The configurations and interface may vary as the firmware is further developed but the operational concepts should remain similar and relevant.
The Email Notifications feature allows the security system to send emails using a specific email address to a designated receiver. It is very useful for remote and timely notifications and is fairly straightforward to setup. In this guide, we will be configuring this feature by remotely accessing our Network Video Recorder on a computer browser. Navigation: Setup > Network > Email
Server Authentication: Enables or Disables the Server Authentication feature. This is for email accounts that require logins to access. The NVR will be using the specified account to send emails.
Username: Indicate the password of the email account. It is a good practice to fill in this field with the complete email login details including the domain. ex: john@domain.com.
Password: Indicate the password of the email account. For Gmail accounts with 2-factor authentication enabled, it may be necessary to generate an app password for the Email Notification feature of the NVR.
Generating a Gmail App Password: To generate an app password for the NVR to use, head to the security tab of your Google Account.
SMTP Server: Determines the server the NVR will use. Varies per email service.
SMTP Port: Determines the port the NVR will use. Varies per email service.
Snapshot Interval: Determines the interval between snapshots for email notifications.
Sender: Determines the name of the sender.
Sender's Address: Determines the email address of the sender.
Select Recipient: Determines which recipient to edit.
Recipient: Determines the name of the recipient.
Recipient Address: Determines the email address of the recipient.
Arming Schedule: Determines the schedule when email notifications are enabled.
You should run an email test to check if everything is in working order. Don't forget to save your configuration.
